According to sources, Google Meet’s web version is going to bring 1080 pixel resolution to conversations involving three or more participants. If users have a camera with this resolution, they will be recommended for better streaming quality before the conversation begins. This feature is set to be off by default but can be controlled through the settings menu.

On the other hand, 1080 pixel resolution will only be sent to other users when they have also enabled the 1080 pixel feature. This will require additional bandwidth, and in case bandwidth is limited from Meet’s side, it will automatically adjust.

This feature is available for individual subscribers of Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Starter, Enterprise Plus, Education Plus, and Teaching and Learning Upgrade.”
